Daily Taraweh Reminder: Day 7

Taraweeh Reflection

Day 7: Juzz 7

Allah’s mercy prevails over everything

The phrase كَتَبَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ appears in Qur’an (6:12, 6:54).

Allah did not merely mention mercy — He wrote it upon Himself. This gives every believer unshakable hope, balanced with responsibility.

Here are short reflection points with evidence:

1️⃣ Allah has prescribed mercy upon Himself
Evidence:
“Your Lord has prescribed mercy upon Himself…” (6:54)
This is a divine commitment — not imposed, but chosen by Him.

2️⃣ Mercy defines His relationship with creation
Evidence:
“My mercy encompasses all things.” (7:156)
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.’” (39:53)
Mercy is expansive and addressed even to sinners.

3️⃣ Hope is always open through repentance
Evidence:
“And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants…” (42:25)
“Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.” (39:53)
No sin is beyond forgiveness if one returns sincerely.

4️⃣ Mercy precedes His punishment
Evidence:
In a hadith qudsi, Allah says:
“My mercy prevails over My wrath.”
Recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Mercy is dominant over punishment.

5️⃣ We are commanded to reflect this mercy
Evidence:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful…”
Recorded in Sunan al-Tirmidhi.
And Allah describes him as:
“And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.” (21:107)

Reflection summary:
Allah did not merely mention mercy — He wrote it upon Himself. This gives every believer unshakable hope, balanced with responsibility.
